Star Formation

Prof. Sara Beck

The course is given in the second semester,

Tuesday 12:0--15:00, office hours Wednesday 13:00--14:00 Kaplun 117

This course covers the basic physics of star formation and an overview of the current state of research. It is intended to prepare first or second year graduate students to enter into research in the field.

There will be a lot of reading in English. Much of the reading will be taken from the most recent Protostars and Planets conference and will be posted here. The textbook The Formation of Stars in the Science library is a good resource, especially for theory.

The grade is based on exercises (40%) and the final exam (60%).
