Subject: Wise Users - Header problem (January 2001) In the first few days of January 2001, the date, JD and time in the Tek header is wrong by ~2 years! Their is no way to extract the exact time of observation! Anyway, you can retrieve from my public ftp directory: /home/wise3/ftp/pub/eran/IRAF/fix012001.cl an iraf script that corrects the date and JD, since the time is not known it is replaced by 22:00 UT (~local midnight). -------------------------------------------------------------------- The equinox in all the headers of CD-150 (and probably on part of CD-151) is 1900.. instead of 2000.. This was corrected in the "hdsk" file but not in the images. In order to correct this you can run a new version of "fixy2k.cl" available from: /home/wise3/ftp/pub/eran/IRAF/fixy2k.cl Due to problem in the y2k patch in the camera-controller computer the date-obs and JD for images taken on Febuary 29th was written as March 1st. This was corrected in the "hdsk" file, but not in the original images and it should be corrected manually! -------------------------------------------------------------------- The JD in the headers of Wise images from January 1st to January 12th is not correct, you should add 36525 days to the JD in this images. (and therefore the ST is also wrong) The problem is being fixed by Peter. Untill the archive "hdsk" files will be fixed their will be a small problem in the -- Wise Image Archive / Search by Object Name --- In order to avoid this problem, put 1890 in the "Date From Year" field. --------------------------------------------------------------------
