Abstract: With the 20th anniversary of the detection of the first
extrasolar planet fast approaching, the focus of the field has expanded
from finding planets and now encompasses their characterisation. One
possible way to do this is to use the properties of moons of these
planets, or moon non-detection thresholds to test planet and moon
formation models. In this context I present some of my work on moon
detectability, in particular:
* The effect of realistic photometric noise on the detectability of moons
of transiting planets using photometric transit timing, and
* The detectability of moons of pulsar planets through time-of-arrival
perturbation.
